Stefan Payne has become the fourth Barnsley player to exit Oakwell this January transfer window, albeit only on loan, after joining League One strugglers Shrewsbury for the rest of the season.
The 25 year old frontman joined the Reds in the summer after 33 goals in 79 league starts for Dover, but is yet to start a game for Barnsley having made nine substitute appearances in all competitions.
He has however been Barnsley’s back up striker since Sam Winnall defected to Sheffield Wednesday so it must be believed that head coach Paul Heckingbottom will be looking to bolster his strikeforce before tomorrow’s deadline as he is now currently left with just Tom Bradshaw and Adam Armstrong as first team strikers.
The Shrews are currently 19th in League One, just two points above the relegation zone.
