Adam Hammill finally completed his protracted and expected transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers today and has signed a three and a half year deal at Molineux.
The fee is believed to be around the £500,000 mark which meets a clause put into his contract when he joined Barnsley from Liverpool in the summer of 2009.
A statement on the official Barnsley F.C website reads:
FOLLOWING protracted negotiations, Barnsley Football Club have today accepted an undisclosed offer from Wolverhampton Wanderers FC for the permanent transfer of Adam Hammill.
The Club received a number of offers for the 22-year-old which met or exceeded the minimum conditions set in the player's contract.
Barnsley Football Club have therefore accepted what we consider to be the best bid both financially for the Club in the short and long term and one in the best interests of the player.
Adam has agreed to join Wolverhampton Wanderers and has today completed his switch to the Molineux Stadium club, signing a three-and-a-half year deal.
A deal to keep full back Matt Hill at Oakwell is believed to be included in the deal.
