Barnsley were nearly on the end of an embarrassing friendly defeat at lowly Glossop North End this afternoon.
The North West Counties League side raced into a 2-0 lead against a largely second string outfit before a second half salvo rescued The Reds.
Out of the eleven who started only four (Marciano Van Homoet, Bobby Hassell, Rob Kozluk and Brian Howard) are likely to start against Queens Park Rangers on the 9th August.
Dave Young curled a freekick past Kyle Letheren after just seven minutes and Glossop were 2-0 up with 33 minutes gone when Luke Potter and Robert Atkinson got into a mix up that allowed Dave Hodges to run clear and finish.
The Reds rallied after the break and Kozluk reduced the arrears on 72 minutes by heading home a Diego Leon cross. This came after Andy Johnson, Hassell and Leon had all hit the woodwork.
Youngster Jamil Adam then hit his third goal in two days four minutes later to salvage a draw.
