Kell Nearing Comeback

Richard Kell has received a massive boost in his quest to finally make his long awaited Barnsley debut.
Kell, signed on a free transfer from Scunthorpe United, in the summer has not played since breaking his leg whilst playing for the Iron at the back end of last season.

But after a week of intensive treatment at Lilleshall things are certainly looking up as Rick Holden told the Official Site:

" Richard Kell spent last week at Lilleshall and we are very, very pleased with his progress. he has come on leaps and bounds after a week of intense treatment and is now free from pain.

He is now back in full football training and worked with the players who did not get a game at Southend at the start of the week. He is in training with the squad and there is pretty much nothing that he cannot do.

Richard now needs to build up his general fitness and sharpness through football work before he gets the chance to play in the reserves."

Barnsley Boy says: Great to see Kell nearing his debut. If he makes the same impact that Brian Howard did he’ll be worth the wait!

Meanwhile Tony Vaughan is nearing a return to Stockport County after a medial ligament injury

Holden told the Official Site:

" Tony Vaughan is coming back to the club two or three times a week for treatment after picking up a medial ligament injury playing for Stockport.

His problem is nowhere near as bad as first thought but looks like it will keep him out for about three weeks or so"
