Kell on Comeback Trail
Last updated : 21 September 2005 By BarnsleyBoy
Midfielder Richard Kell is finally close to making his long awaited Barnsley debut. Kell signed on a free transfer from Scunthorpe United has failed to appear for The Reds after breaking his leg towards the end of the 2004/2005 season whilst playing for The Iron but he's finally close to full recovery.
Assistant manager Rick Holden spoke to the Official Barnsley F.C website today:
" Richard is coming on well. He is still getting a little discomfort but he has to learn the biomechanics of running again after so long out. He is jogging about and we are quite pleased - I think he is doing as well as we could have expected at this stage after such a traumatic injury.
His next step is to see a consultant at the end of the month and then he could be able to join in with the rest of the squad. Hopefully he'll be able to start some football work and some small sided games in the near future"
