Kayode Odejayi has finally put an end to his Barnsley hell by agreeing to join Colchester United in a permanent transfer in January.
The 27 year old Nigerian international scored just five goals in 82 appearances but wrote himself into Oakwell folklore with the goal that dumped Chelsea out of the FA Cup in 2008. He was a figure of fun for Reds fans due to his inability to find the net but has been a revelation for the U’s, scoring seven times in 14 appearances.
The two clubs have agreed an undisclosed fee for the striker and he will move when the transfer window opens.
Colchester manager Aidy Boothroyd told their official website:
"I am delighted to have got Kayode on a permanent basis,"
"He is a Championship class player and that is where we want to be going as a football club."
