Barnsley completed their third signing of the January transfer window today and number four may not be too far away.
As expected winger Connor Mahoney joined on loan from Premier League side AFC Bournemouth until the end of the season following two FA Cup appearances for the Cherries and now according to reports in France Thomas Ephestion could be the next player through the door and the first using the contacts of the club's new Chinese owner Chien Lee.
The Reds had hope Amiens Harrison Manzala would have been the first but that broke down over personal terms but today RC Lens manager Eric Roy told local reporters that a deal had been agreed for their midfielder Ephestion.
The 22 year old started his career with Valenciennes B team, making four appearances in 2012-2013 before moving to Marseille where again he settled for second string football, scoring once in 14 appearances between 2014 and 2015.
Ephestion then moved to AS Beziers who play in the third tier of French football, scoring once in 18 games.
He moved on again in 2017, signing for RC Lens in Ligue 2 and he has so far made four appearances for them, three in the league and one in the Coupe de la Ligue cup competition and he has made two assists in those four games.
