Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele has reaffirmed his intention to sign a new contract at Oakwell and extend his stay at the club into a sixth year and beyond.
The 28 year old has been at the club since February 2008 and has made 163 appearances. He is out of contract this summer and, as of yet, the board have made no offer to him or the other players who see their current deals expiry in 2013. There is a desire at the highest level to wait and see which division the club will be competing in next season before committing, but Steele told the Sunday press he only sees himself between the sticks with The Reds next season.
He said:
"I have no other ideas to leave or play for any other club,"
"I have been here for five years and am as happy now as I have ever been in my career.
"If something happens soon, brilliant. I would love to stay at the club.
"That is my honest opinion, there is no hidden agenda."
