Mido is set to have his Barnsley contract cancelled this week as the club finally admit defeat in their quest to rehabilitate the marquee summer signing.
The 29 year old former Tottenham, West Ham and Middlesbrough striker, who hit 13 Premier League goals for Spurs in 2005-2006 has made just one solitary 27 minute appearance for The Reds this season after signing in the summer due to hamstring and back injuries. To compound matters he was reprimanded- believed to be a fine of two weeks wages- after posting an anti-Israel tweet last week.
Now the club have finally lost patience with Mido and are set to offer him a mutual consent package to depart Oakwell for good. He has not trained with the first team squad for several weeks and has spent his time with the Under 18 squad.
