Chris Dagnall is set to seal a loan move to League One Coventry City in the next 24 hours.
The 27 year old has netted just six goals in 53 league appearances for The Reds since joining in January 2012 and five of those came in a eight game spell last season which proved crucial in helping Barnsley retain their Championship status.
The former Rochdale striker has managed just one in 2013-2014 and will now move to Coventry, who play their home games at Northampton’s Sixfields Stadium until January 4th.
Meanwhile two of The Reds brightest young prospects have gone out on loan. 18-year-old McCauley Shillito has moved to Frickley for a month and Sam Patterson has gone to FC Halifax.
