"Mr Bean" fails in attempt to oust our Barry

A dispute is brewing between Barnsley director Barry Taylor and former FA sleaze buster Graham Bean after the latter tried to oust Taylor from the FA divisional representation for Yorkshire and Derbyshire. Taylor beat Doncaster Rovers chairman John Ryan by nine votes to eight for election but Bean had masterminded Ryan's campaign and appealed.

It is believed there is a lot of bad blood between Bean and Taylor after Bean was banned from Oakwell for stating in a newspaper column that there was no point fighting the FA's decision not to punish Sheffield United's Chris Morgan for his challenge which left Reds striker Iain Hume with a fractured skull.

Bean appealed Taylor's election by stating he had "seeked nominations from other clubs" and of a club not voting correctly. Thankfully, for once in football, common sense has prevailed, the appeal was rejected and Taylor will remain an elected councillor on the board.
