Barnsley's highly rated midfielder Paul Digby has today signed new 4 year contract with the club, keeping him at Oakwell until 2017.
The 18-year-old made his Reds debut in 2011 in the 1-1 draw with Derby County at the age of just 16 and progressed well through the academy before signing a professional deal last summer.
He has now committed to four years at Oakwell, and is thought to have a big future under the current managerial team. He tweeted to show his delight at signing his new deal: @PDiggers17 - All done and dusted. Over the moon to be a red for at least another 4 years!!! #onwardsandupwards
He told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
“I’m obviously delighted and glad to be here for the next four years,” said Digby. “Hopefully we can progress as a club.
“Last week, I sat down with my agent and he said that the club wanted to keep me here for the next four years. We discussed various things and obviously I was thrilled.
“I just want to get back in the team and continue playing football. It’s such a big deal for a young player,”
“To know I’m wanted as part of the club’s future plans gives me a massive boost.”
