Barnsley received a special BBC Radio Sheffield award last weekend in recognition of their promotion to the Championship.
Reds chairman Gordon Shepherd collected the award at the BBC Yorkshire Sports Awards.
Meanwhile The Reds will face an FA hearing in January in answer to their charge of failing to control their players in the 1-0 home defeat against Coventry on 28th October.
The Reds have denied the charge and will have a personal hearing on 18th January.
Finally injury-jinxed midfielder Richard Kell has finally left the club and signed a one month deal with League Two promotion hopefuls Lincoln City.
Kell signed at Oakwell in the summer of 2005 from Scunthorpe whilst recovering from a broken leg. He was hampered with injuries however and made just 4 appearances.
His contract expired in the summer but he has been training with The Reds.
Former trialist Danny Cadamarteri will join Oldham on trial.
