Interesting Stats:
Barnsley are looking for a third home win in four against Burnley and have lost just one of the last 16 Oakwell meetings with the Clarets dating back to 1932.
Burnley have though won three of the last four meetings overall.
The Reds are also currently on their worst home run for 23 years, having failed to win any of their last seven matches in front of the Oakwell faithful. The last time this happened was back in the 1989-1990 season when they went eight home matches without victory between the 26th September and the 26th December.
Defeat for The Reds tomorrow would be their third in a row at home, something that has not happened for three years. After the third reversal back in 2009, Simon Davey was axed as manager.
Burnley are having an indifferent spell having won five and lost four of their last nine matches and overall have won eight and lost eight of their 18 games this season.
They did win away from home on Saturday however- 1-0 at Hull.
That result was the Claret’s first clean sheet on the road this season.
They have not won successive away matches since March/April and have only won back-to-back games on one occasion this season.
Sean Dyche’s side who are likely to include ex Reds loanee Kieran Trippier in their side tomorrow, have yet to draw a game away from Turf Moor this campaign.
They have conceded 21 times on their travels, only Ipswich (23) have conceded more.
They have managed to score 14 times on the road this season, the most of any team in the bottom half of the table.
Tomorrow will be Keith Hill’s 300th match as a manager (231 for Rochdale 68 for Barnsley) So far in his 299 games in charge, Hill has managed 119 victories- 101 for Rochdale, 18 for Barnsley- 72 draws- 59 for Rochdale, 13 for Barnsley- and 108 defeats- 71 for Rochdale, 37 for Barnsley.
We should be guaranteed goals. There has not been a goal-less draw between these two sides since 1935 and matches involving Burnley this season have generated a division high 63 goals.
