Interesting Stats
Crystal Palace head into this match unbeaten in their last nine matches, whilst Barnsley have won just one of their last nine.
Seven of the Eagles undefeated games have ended in draws though, including the last three, whilst The Reds have lost their last three, and have drawn just one of their past 29 games.
Its 15 years since Palace last drew four matches on the trot- the 1996-1997 season when both Palace and Barnsley won promotion to the Premier League, whilst it is three years since Barnsley last lost four in a row.
Palace are unbeaten in their last six league and cup games at Selhurst Park and have kept clean sheets in each of the last three, whereas Barnsley have lost their last five on the road and have failed to score in any of the most recent four. In fact The Reds have lost seven of their last eight away from Oakwell, failing to score in six of them.
Barnsley have won four matches on the road this season- more than the whole of last season but still two short of their best total since returning to the Championship.
Palace have lost just twice at home this season (the same as league leaders Southampton) and only bettered by Birmingham who have just one home defeat.
They have though drawn nine games in front of their own supporters- the joint highest in the Football League.
Palace have conceded just 10 goals at Selhurst Park this season- the joint lowest home total in the Championship.
Victory for Palace would be their 900th home league win.
If matches finished at half time, Barnsley would have kept 20 clean sheets from their 38 games, as it is they have kept just six and only one in their last 21 outings.
Its 12 years since The Reds last left Selhurst Park with all three points- Bruce Dyer and Darren Barnard getting both goals in the opening 15 minutes to seal a 2-0 win. The Reds have lost six of their seven visits since, scoring just twice.
Both teams are though close in head to head meetings in South London, Palace just shading it 13 wins to 11 and Barnsley have scored 28 times in 28 visits.
Barnsley defeat Palace 2-1 at Oakwell back in December, but they have not done the double over the Eagles since the Premier League campaign of 1997-1998.
