Oakwell Set For UEFA Cup Football!!! There's a headline you probably thought you would never read but strong rumours are now surfacing that Premier League side Manchester City- who qualified via the Fair Play League- could play their first qualifying round game at the home of Barnsley Football Club!
City and their new manager Mark Hughes are looking for a temporary home due to the fact that their City of Manchester Stadium will be unavailable at the time of the UEFA Cup Qualifying Round (between the 17th and 31st of July) due to the ground been used to stage concerts, boxing matches and various other events over the summer.
City were originally going to use Preston North End's Deepdale stadium but police have objected to this move and now Oakwell is the favourite.
Barnsley Football Club have so far refused to comment but Barnsley could be turning Blue in July for one night only. But do not worry; it will still be Just Like Watching Brazil if the expected signing of Ronaldinho goes through!
Meanwhile Premier League Bolton and Championship side Wolves are the front-runners for Barnsley captain Brian Howard. Owner Patrick Cryne is likely to want £3m rather than the quoted £10m for Howard.
