Former Barnsley loanee Garry O’Connor has been arrested along with two Hearts players on suspicion of possessing cocaine.
The 28 year old, who made nine appearances during a short term spell at Oakwell from Birmingham last season was detained by police in Edinburgh on Saturday along with Heart of Midlothian players Ian Black and Robert Ogleby. Both Black and Ogleby were charged and released whilst O’Connor was released without charge pending a further examination.
Meanwhile midfielder Jacob Butterfield could be following Mark Robins out of the club with the manager's departure beleived to have hit the youngster hard. Butterfield emerged as a genuine star throughout 2010-2011 but has yet to agree a newl deal at Oakwell. This has seen the likes of Aston Villa, QPR, Wolves and Leicester become interested.
