The Sheffield Star is reporting that the Reds are set to appoint ex-Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll as the new manager next week.
The Star's website reports that O'Driscoll met with Oakwell officials and is currently mulling over terms to be become the Reds next boss, succeeding Keith Hill.
Strangely, a lot could rest on Luton's FA Cup tie at home to Wolves today, with the Molineux boss Stale Solbakken under extreme pressure, and surely a defeat to Non-League Luton today would seal his fate and Wolverhampton born O'Driscoll could prefer to move there.
In the meantime, he has gone to odds on favourite with SkyBet to succeed Hill (4/6) and is even money with Stan James. O'Driscoll is thought to be part of the four man shortlist drawn up by the board.
Caretaker boss David Flitcroft will take charge of today's FA Cup tie at home to Burnley, and will again be assisted by Micky Mellon and Martin Scott.
