One Out, Don In

Barnsley have moved swiftly to fill the Ethan Pinnock sized hole in their defence by swooping to sign Toby Sibbick from AFC Wimbledon on the same day.

The 6ft3 20 year old who can operate at centre back or right back started his career with the Dons and made his professional debut in April 2017, playing the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Peterborough, one of two appearances he made that season, both in April and both goal-less draws.

Sibbick featured only five times for the Dons in 2017-2018, four of which were in the Football League Trophy where he netted his first professional goals, a brace in a 4-3 win over Tottenham Under 21s.

Last season proved the breakout year for Sibbick as he made 31 appearances, including as an 83rd minute substitute in a 0-0 draw at Oakwell in August, but his biggest moment was netting the fourth and final goal in an historic 4-2 victory over Premier League West Ham in the FA Cup.

He becomes the Reds sixth summer signing and puts pen to paper on a four year contract with the option of a fifth.
