Mansfield Town have made Alex Neil available for transfer.
Neil has had his name circulated on a free transfer after talks with caretaker manager Carlton Palmer.
Palmer said: "I told Alex that unfortunately at this level you have to prioritise where your areas are and at this football club we cannot afford to have a player on Alex's wages sat on the bench so he is free to go somewhere else if he can find a club."
