Interesting Stats:

Barnsley have won five of their last six trips to Peterborough but just six in total.

This will be the first meeting at this level for exactly 10 years. Barnsley did the double over the Posh back in 2004-2005, winning 4-0 at home and 3-1 away.

This fixture usually produces goals. There has been 28 in the last eight clashes.

The Reds have scored in each of their last ten trips to London Road. 1974 was the last time they failed to do so.

Peterborough, who were relegated from the Championship instead of Barnsley on that dramatic final minute of the final day of the 2012-2013 season and have made a strong start in trying to win promotion back to the second tier following a play-off semi-final defeat last season.

Darren Ferguson’s side sit second in the table with seven wins and 23 points from their opening 12 matches.

Remarkably they are eight points WORSE off than this time last season but sit in the exact same position in League One.

Posh have won two of their last three league matches including a 4-1 victory at Crawley at the weekend, but they have only won back to back games once this season and have followed a victory with either a draw or defeat on five occasions.

The Posh have played six home league games so far this season and have failed to net on only one occasion. They have lost just one of those six too.

Barnsley are searching for a third successive league victory, something they have not managed since February 2013.

Sam Winnall has netted in back to back Barnsley matches, he last netted in three games in a row was back in February for Scunthorpe when he managed to score in four.

Barnsley have scored a first half goal just once in the last eight games in all competitions.
