Reds assistant manager Andy Ritchie spoke after the 4-1 win over Torquay.
Post match comments after victory over Torquay
He said: "We needed a win to stop that losing streak,"
"The goals were excellent and were all from the training ground. I thought the lads were in complete control. It was excellent. The lads knew that they hadn't performed well in the last three games. We didn't do ourselves justice at Doncaster. I was disappointed in losing a goal at the end.
"We've had three disappointing results. You've got to have long memories not short ones. We had 13 matches unbeaten. I know that we should have won more than we drew. If we go on another winning run, I don't know where we will end up."
Ritchie also singled out Simon Johnson on his Reds debut saying: "I was pleased with Simon. He's got pace and showed some good touches."
Meanwhile, Torquay boss Leroy Rosenior was disappointed with his side's defending and said: "It was always going to be a big ask, but we just couldn't defend set pieces. Barnsley deserved to win, but I was disappointed with the first 25 minutes. The front two couldn't hold the ball up but in the second we worked at giving them a game.

"The goals were all quality. There is no blame for the keeper. He had no experience in front."
