Reds youngster Mason Holgate is understood to be attracting interest from top flight English clubs as the summer transfer window hots up.
The 18-year-old, who can capably play at either right-back or centre half, appeared 22 times for the Reds last season after making his debut in the home game against his hometown club Doncaster Rovers in December last year.
He scored his first senior goal in the Reds' 5-0 demolition of Rochdale on the final day and caught the eye with a string of excellent performances, particularly after Lee Johnson's arrival at the club.
Aston Villa are believed to be lining up a £1m bid for Holgate this summer, but top sides Arsenal and Liverpool are also rumoured to be chasing him.
It remains to be seen whether the Reds will accept this bid, with mistakes made in the past over transfer fees for young, up and coming players after John Stones was sold to Everton for just £2.2m and within two years was an England international.
