Barnsley have made their second loan signing in as many days by bringing Peter Ramage back to Oakwell.
The 30 year old centre back became a fans favourite at Oakwell last season when on loan from Crystal Palace and impressed in the Reds rearguard despite being unable to help the club survive relegation in his 26 games between September 2013 and May 2014.
He returned to Selhurst Park in the summer but has not made an appearance this season so Reds boss Danny Wilson has moved swiftly to sign him on a three-month emergency loan to try and help a defence, which has so far conceded 13 goals in nine league games and has kept just one clean sheet.
Ramage, who has also played for Newcastle, QPR and Birmingham, told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"It's good to be back.
"I'm looking forward to getting going again and playing.
"If I was to drop to League One, then Barnsley were the only team I was going to sign for.
"To be back in the north feels good and it does feel good to be back."
Ramage joins fellow new boy Ryan Williams in being available for tomorrow’s trip to Rochdale.
