Barnsley have been boosted today by the news key centre half Peter Ramage will remain on loan at Oakwell until the end of the season.
The 31 year old who has made 41 appearances for The Reds in two loan spells since September 2013 was due to return to parent club Crystal Palace this week.
Reds boss Danny Wilson told local media he was keen to keep the former Newcastle, QPR and Birmingham defender but the arrival of Alan Pardew as manager at Selhurst Park had complicated the issue.
However following communications between the two clubs yesterday Pardew gave the green light for Ramage to remain in South Yorkshire for the remainder of the 2014-2015 season.
Ramage’s Palace contract expires this summer and it would now seem he has no future with the South London outfit who he joined in 2012 following a loan spell, so it remains to be seen whether Barnsley can entice him to a permanent contract in the summer.
