Barnsley fans will get their home friendly in preparation for the 2012-2013 season after the club confirmed they will play Premier League side West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 28th July, kick-off 3pm.
Reds director Don Rowing confirmed at the beginning of the week of his fears that the Oakwell faithful would not get to see their side on their own patch before the season kicked off against Middlesbrough in August, after Sheffield United and Fulham turned down approaches.
But the club have now managed to find opposition, in the form of West Brom who will be under the guidance of new manager Steve Clarke, after Roy Hodgson left to take over the England job.
It will be the first time the two sides have met at Oakwell since September 2009 when The Reds triumphed 3-1.
