The Huddersfield Examiner has reported that the Reds are interested in bringing former Austria international Sanel Kuljic to Oakwell.
The 32-year-old is of Bosnian descent and is currently playing for SC Wiener Neustadt in the Austrian first division and has also played for SV Salzburg, SV Pasching, LASK Linz, SV Ried, FC Sion and Austria Wien.
He won 20 caps for Austria between 2005 and 2007 and scored three goals. Altogether in his league career he has made 285 appearances and netted 132 goals.
Meanwhile, the Examiner also reports that Reds out of favour winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce is a target for Championship rivals Bristol City.
The report reads:
Barnsley are trying to sign former Austria international striker Sanel Kuljic, 32, while Jamal Campbell Ryce appears to be a target for Bristol City.
In other news, Reds target Steven Gohouri has signed for Premier League side Wigan until the end of the season.
