Barnsley Football Club were the fourth highest spenders on agents in the Championship during the six months to December 31, 2008, Football League stats have today revealed.
The fee is of £266,000 and relates to transfers in and out, loans in and out and cancelled contracts. The Reds are fourth after Derby (£717,000), Norwich (£490,000) and Birmingham City (£425,000).
Leeds were League One's top spenders with £346,500 and Luton Town were surprisingly League Two's money men, splashing out £47,000 on agents fees.
