Southampton sent Barnsley to the bottom of the Championship last night after a 2-2 draw at home to Ipswich.
Andrew Surman put Southampton in front after 12 minutes but Owen Garvan and Alan Quinn turned the game Ipswich's way.
Tomas Peckhart grabbed a debut goal however to seal a share of the spoils and Southampton now sit 23rd with four points from their opening six games whilst Barnsley are certainly proving they are one of the strongest team in the league -their propping everybody else up- as they sit 24th with three points from six games.
Barnsley have lost the most games in the Championship so far, and the joint most in the Football League (5) but ironically have the joint best defensive record in the Championship out of the bottom seven teams and have conceded the same amount of goals (8) as fifth placed Reading.
Oh and who do Barnsley face on Saturday?? Yep Southampton!
Meanwhile a bit of good news for Reds fans, midfielder Anderson De Silva is set for his first appearance since February when Barnsley make the long trip to the St Mary's Stadium at the weekend.
The 26 year old Brazilian who ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments against Norwich, played a full 90 minutes in a behind closed doors game against Rochdale last night and had no adverse reaction.
Reds boss Simon Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"Anderson came through the full game and did ok. It was what he needed and he is in contention for a place in the squad on Saturday".
Miguel Mostto scored the Barnsley goal in a 1-1 draw.
