Barnsley Football Club have today made a fantastic goodwill gesture to the 400 supporters who made the wasted eight hour round trip to Charlton on Saturday.
Each supporter is now entitled to a free matchday ticket for this Saturday’s home clash with Blackpool.
A statement on the club’s website read:
"Following the extremely late postponement of Saturday’s away Sky Bet Championship match at Charlton, Barnsley Football Club can confirm the following:
Tickets for the postponed match will remain valid for the rearranged fixture – which will be confirmed as soon as possible.
Refunds via the same method of payment for match tickets purchased will be issued upon return of tickets to the Oakwell Box Office.
Despite the postponement of the match at Charlton, which was completely beyond our control, Barnsley Football Club would like to offer the following goodwill gesture to those who had pre-purchased their tickets:
One free* match ticket to the Reds’ home fixture against Blackpool this Saturday 18th January, 2014.
Further updates on the Club’s request to the Football League for compensation and the rearranged fixture details will be published on www.barnsleyfc.co.uk at the earliest opportunity.
*Free ticket of equivalent status (i.e. one concession Charlton ticket = one concession Blackpool ticket) available upon production of Charlton ticket at the Oakwell Box Office up until 2pm on matchday (Saturday 18th January, 2014)
