Barnsley has today signed Hull City striker Nick Proschwitz on loan.
The 27-year-old German forward signed for the Tigers for £2.6m in July 2012 but has struggled to force his way into Steve Bruce’s plans.
He managed five goals in 31 appearances last season, including a crucial strike in the final day draw with Cardiff which secured Hull’s return to the Premier League but has managed just 23 minutes of top flight action this season plus four cup appearances.
The former Hamburg and Wolfsburg man did net in Hull’s 2-0 FA Cup win at Middlesbrough earlier this month but the arrival of Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long last week has pushed Proschwitz further down the pecking order.
Reds boss Danny Wilson has tied up a deal until the end of the season with The Reds desperate for forward cover with Marcus Pedersen still struggling with injury and both Chris Dagnall and Jason Scotland having now left the club.
