Barnsley have announced their retained list for the 2019-2020 Championship campaign.
A new contract has been offered to goalkeeper and captain Adam Davies who jointly won the League One Golden Glove award after keeping 19 clean sheets, although it remains to be seen whether the club's current longest serving player extends his stay into a sixth season with reported interest from Stoke City.
Two more out of contract players have also been offered new deals, although both have played considerably less than the 209 games that Davies has. Fellow shot stopper Jake Greatorex, 20, has been offered the chance to extend his stay with his boyhood club. He joined the Academy in May 2008 when just seven years old and has been a mainstay in the Under 23s side. Although yet to appear for the first team he has been on the substitutes bench on 23 occasions in 2018-2019.
The third player asked to remain at the club may be the most surprising - winger Ryan Hedges. The Welsh international has had an injury plagued spell at Oakwell since joining in January 2017 and despite making 25 appearances under Daniel Stendel only eight were starts.
There is a fourth player set to stay at the club with confirmation that the option of a one year extension to Dimitri Cavare's deal has been triggered.
Barnsley will say goodbye to three players with a combined 134 appearances for the club - Lloyd Isgrove, Zeki Fryers and Adam Jackson. It also means that if Davies rejects the offer of a new deal there will be NO players left at the club from the 2015-2016 promotion winning team.
