Barnsley have secured the highly sought signature of winger Ryan Kent on a season long loan from Premier League giants Liverpool.
The 19 year old winger has made only one FA Cup appearance for the Anfield side in a 2-2 draw at Exeter in January but had a productive 17 game spell with the at the time, Barnsley’s League One rivals Coventry City last season where he netted against The Reds- in a 4-3 Sky Blues victory in November.
Oldham born Kent has represented England at both Under 18 and Under 20 level and has been at Liverpool since the age of seven. He signed a four and a half year contract at Anfield in March 2015.
There have been some suggestions that a clause in the deal states Kent must appear in at least 75% of Barnsley’s games this season but that as of yet has not been confirmed but this deal seems to lower the chances of Barnsley being able to entice Lloyd Isgrove back from Southampton as The Reds now have Kent, Marley Watkins and Adam Hammill as out and out wingers.
