Barnsley have beaten South Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers to sign Derby County midfielder James Bailey on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old had been training with Rovers but after the collapse of their well documented takeover involving One Direction's Louis Tomlinson, he has wasted no time in joining the Reds.
He began his career with Crewe Alexandra in their famous academy. He became professional in 2007 and made 46 appearances for Alex before moving onto Derby in 2010.
After fifty appearances for the Rams and two loan spells at their Midland rivals Coventry City, Bailey has joined the Reds on a two-year deal. HE told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"I'm really pleased to sign and can't wait to get going,"
"The manager has outlined his plans and they're really exciting. I want to be a part of what he is building here and get back into the Championship."
