Barnsley have suffered another injury blow with the news midfielder David Perkins has been ruled out for three weeks following the hamstring injury he suffered in the 1-1 draw at Derby last week.
Thankfully, all Championship clubs are in the middle of an international break, meaning the 29 year old former Colchester man is likely only to miss the televised trip to Portsmouth a week on Saturday, but is a doubt for the following game at home to Burnley three days later.
Reds boss Keith Hill told the Sheffield Star:
"Perks is definitely not going to be ready for that one, he's going to need more time to recover from his injury.
"It's a shame for Perks because he's done really well, but he's likely to be out for at least three weeks.
"But Nathan Doyle got a chance because of his injury and came in and did a really good job against Coventry at the weekend.
"Nathan's had to be patient for his chance, but I was pleased with the way he performed. He was excellent."
Meanwhile former manager Mark Robins is odds on favourite to take the vacant managerial role at rock bottom Bristol City. City fired manager Keith Millen on Monday after a dreadful start had seen the club ironically nicknamed the Robins, win just one of their opening 10 games and sit bottom of the Championship.
And now Robins, who left Oakwell in the summer in a row of transfer funds is the bookies favourite to get back into management.
The 41 year old former Manchester United striker told the Bristol Evening Post:
"I'm certainly interested in getting back into work and I'd consider any good job that becomes available,"
