The fixtures for the 2012/13 Championship campaign have been released this morning and Barnsley will take on Middlesbrough at Oakwell for the season curtain-raiser on Saturday 18th August.
It will be the first time the Reds have opened their season at home since the 2007/2008 campaign where Simon Davey's side were eclipsed 4-1 by bogey-side Coventry.
The Reds haven't won on the first day of the season since the 05/06 League One promotion season when they beat Swindon Town 2-0 with goals from Paul Hayes and Chris Shuker.
The first away match falls on the following Tuesday away to recently relegated Wolves.
The first reunion with Sheffield Wednesday will be at Oakwell on December 15th with the return match at Hillsborough scheduled for March 30th.
We play Leeds United at Elland Road on October 6th and entertain the Whites at Oakwell on January 12th.
