The Reds will take on Mark Hughes side on Saturday 1st August 2009 Kick-Off 3pm and is likely to be the final pre-season game before the Championship opener the following weekend.
Meanwhile record breaker Rueben Noble-Lazarus has committed his future to the club by signing a two year scholarship and professional contract.
Noble-Lazarus, who become the youngest ever Football League player when he came on as a substitute in a 3-0 defeat at Ipswich on the 30th September 2008, had a two week trial at Manchester United but has now committed his future to the Reds.
Reds boss Simon Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"Reuben is an extremely talented young player and one we have very high hopes for. We are absolutely delighted that he has committed his future to Barnsley Football Club and look forward to working with him".
