The Reds will face an away trip on the opening day of the season for the first time since 2011 after todays fixture release revealed a short trip to Chesterfield on the opening day of the 2015/16 season.
A 38 mile dash down the M1 to the ProAct Stadium faces Lee Johnson's side in his first full season as Reds boss. The Spireites ran out 2-1 winners in the same fixture last season.
The Reds first home game of the new season will be against newly promoted Burton Albion, who are managed by former Chelsea and Middlesbrough striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
August ends with a trip to former boss Keith Hill's Rochdale.
Notable dates for the diary include Saturday 3rd October when we travel to Doncaster Rovers. Sheffield United visit Oakwell on Saturday 28th November and the Boxing Day fixture is away to the club of another former manager, David Flitcroft's Bury at Gigg Lane.
The reverse Doncaster fixture at Oakwell will be on Saturday 20th February and we travel to Bramall Lane to face the Blades on Saturday 23rd April. The curtain comes down on the season away at Wigan Athletic on May 8th.
