Barnsley's new manager- whoever that will be- has a home tie to look forward to in the third round of the Carling Cup after The Reds were drawn with Premier League new boys Burnley. It is the first home League Cup tie The Reds have had in five games. The last time they were drawn at home was against Darlington in the First Round in 2007.

Barnsley
and Burnley have met once before in the League Cup- in a Second Round tie in 2005-2006. Burnley triumphing 3-0 at Turf Moor, but at the end of the season Barnsley were promoted from League One!

Teams:

Burnley: Coyne, McGreal, Duff, J O'Connor, Hyde, Branch, Akinbiyi (Noel - Williams 75),G O'Connor, Spicer, Lowe, Harley.

Barnsley have got good recent form against the Clarets however, having lost just one of the past five meetings- including a double success in the Championship last season.

The Clarets do have a good League Cup record however, having reached the Semi-Finals three times- including last season when they memorable knocked out Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal and were two minutes away from booking a Final place instead of Tottenham. They progressed to the Third Round this year after seeing off
Hartlepool 2-1 in extra time.
