Barnsley have been rewarded for their magnificent 3-2 win at Middlesbrough on Saturday after being awarded the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award which is voted for by League Managers Association chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, ex Reds boss Dave Bassett and Barry Fry.
The Reds earnt their fourth successive league and cup win with their hard-fought triumph at
Middlesbrough. David Flitcroft’s side were 1-0 up at half time but found themselves 2-1 down with 20 minutes to go. Scott Golbourne and Jason Scotland turned the tables on their North East opponents however to earn Barnsley their first ever win at the Riverside Stadium and their first win at Middlesbrough in 21 years.
Reds boss Flicker will be presented with a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to commemorate the award.
It is the second time this season Barnsley have won this particular award after also being chosen following the 5-0 win at Birmingham in September.
