Reid told the official Barnsley FC website: "Andy, with Rick (Holden), has been absolutely brilliant in the last two months and personally I hope that he gets the job come the end of the season to be honest. He has turned the place around and probably deserves to be appointed now but a decision is being made in May.
"The players are right behind him and we all want Andy to stay in past the end of the season".
