Barnsley reserves won 2-0 at Wigan Athletic this afternoon despite fielding a side with an average age of just 19 against what turned out to be an experienced Wigan team.

Reds coach Andy Ritchie said: "The lads played really, really well against what was an experienced Wigan side. We had almost all kids out there and I am very pleased with the way they did.

"Nathan Jarman got both goals but it is really hard to single anyone out of what was a very good, hard working team performance. We defended strongly throughout and coped very well".
