Former Barnsley chairman Peter Ridsdale has been disqualified from acting as a company director for seven and a half years by the Insolvency Service.
The ban was imposed after Ridsdale, 60, who held the reigns at Oakwell from 2003-2005- and nearly sent the club into liquidation before it was rescued by current owner Patrick Cryne - was found to have channelled payments from football clubs into his personal account, rather than a company account.
The inquiry though concluded that his actions did not relate to his footballing duties at the three clubs he has been Chairman of- Leeds, Barnsley and Cardiff.
Ridsdale, who is most famous, or infamous for nearly leading Leeds from the Champions League Semi-Finals to financial oblivion is currently acting as Chairman of League One side Preston North End but claims he is not a director at Deepdale.
