...The former Liverpool youngster died in his home country of Austria yesterday with the cause of death not yet confirmed but believed to be a heart attack.
Idrizaj started his career with LASK Linz in Austria, before earning a big move to Liverpool in 2005. He failed to make a single appearance for the Merseysiders, going on loan to Luton, Crystal Palace and Wacker Innsbruck during his three year stay at Anfield. He joined FC Eilenburg in 2009 before moving back to England with Blackburn. The former Austria Under 21 international then moved to Swansea for the start of the 2009-2010 season but made just three appearances.
A statement from Swansea said:
"We can confirm that the agent of young striker Besian Idrizaj has informed the club that the striker has sadly passed away.
"It is understood that the popular 22-year-old died in his sleep on Friday night while at home with his family in Austria."
"The exact cause of death has not been confirmed and our thoughts are with his family, friends and team-mates at this time."
