According to tomorrow's Barnsley Chronicle, a deal for an attacking midfielder is set for completion and the Reds hope to unveil the player as soon as tomorrow.
The short report on the Chron's website also reports that Robins could also be in a position to sign a forward next week. The brief report reads:
BARNSLEY were last night in the process of wrapping up their third summer signing, an attacking midfielder, the Chronicle has learned. Reds boss Mark Robins said: “We are very close to announcing the signing of a midfield player and by next week we may be in a position to bring in a forward player.
Many believe the attacking midfield player to be an unnamed Portuguese under-21 international but rumours are also abound that it could be former loanee Filipe Teixeira.
On the striker front, former Liverpool hitman Neil Mellor has apparently been spotted at Oakwell today.
