Barnsley have rewarded their supporters with the best Christmas presents they could wish for, after announcing today that Stoke defenders Carl Dickinson and Ryan Shotton will be returning on loan in the New Year and staying at Oakwell until the end of the season!
The original loan agreement runs out after Boxing Day’s clash with Preston but Shotton is suspended for that game due to picking up his fifth caution of the season at Crystal Palace last weekend.
The new deals will start when the transfer window opens on the 1st January 2010.
Manager Mark Robins told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"We are absolutely delighted that Stoke City have agreed to let Ryan stay with us until the end of the season. I have to say a massive thank you to Tony Pulis for allowing his player to remain here.
"Ryan has done fantastically well for us so far this year and we are delighted to keep him here".
"I am absolutely delighted that Tony Pulis has allowed Carl to stay with us until the end of the season. Carl has done very, very well for us and has got better with every game he has played".
There are also persistent rumours that striker Kayode Odejayi is set to tie up a permanent move to League One Colchester United in the next few days. Odejayi has notched seven goals in 14 starts whilst on loan with Aidy Boothroyd’s side.
