Barnsley's Championship survivals hopes could suffer a massive blow after Reds boss Simon Davey admitted the club are considering a bid in the region of £1m for star winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce.
Campbell-Ryce who signed from Southend for £125,000 in the summer of 2007, and has been a key player for the club since, including scoring a wonder goal against Doncaster this season.
That has attracted interest from clubs higher up the table with promotion chasers Reading believed have tabled the seven figure sum.
Davey revealed the club have already turned down two bids for the Jamaican international this month but anything in the millions has to be considered.
He told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"When you get bids of this size, it's a big temptation,"
"Sometimes you have to deal with losing players. I hope he stays but I have to be realistic and there's a chance he may leave."
