Barnsley have seen enough of Sessi D’Almeida in pre-season to today offer the defensive midfielder a two year contract.
The 20-year-old Frenchman has a very impressive youth career after coming through the ranks at Bordeaux who he made his debut for in a Europa League tie against Maccabi Tel Aviv in December 2013. He made only one more appearance for the Ligue 1 giants before being snapped up by moneybags Paris Saint Germain in 2015. The Benin international who has one cap failed to make an appearance for the first team at Parc des Princes but did feature six times for their B outfit.
D’Almeida came to Oakwell for a trial this summer and impressed Paul Heckingbottom in friendlies against Hull and Peterborough enough to be rewarded with a contract.
