Interesting Stats

Last season was the first season in the last seven they had met that the two meetings had NOT resulted in one win and one draw. After a 2-2 stalemate at Oakwell back in August there is a chance it could happen yet again this season.

It means neither side has managed a league double over the other since Charlton won 1-0 away and 2-1 at home back in 1993-1994, exactly 20 seasons ago.

Barnsley have won just twice at Charlton, but both of those victories have come in the last two visits. Aside from this they have drawn eight and lost 13.

The Reds have lost just one of their last seven trips to the Valley, drawing four.

Barnsley have also managed to score in each of their last eight visits, dating back to a goal-less draw in 1993.

Charlton have won just one of their last eight matches and two of the last 13.

The Addicks have drawn three of their last five games, all of which finished 1-1.

They have managed just two wins from their last 10 at home and have managed just three all season. Only Birmingham, Bolton, Yeovil and Barnsley (all 2) have won less.

Chris Powell’s side have also scored just 11 times at this Valley this season, only Yeovil (7) have scored less in front of their own supporters

Barnsley’s record stands at one win in 12, two in 26 matches, and eight in 38.

They have gone seven matches without a win, their longest run of the season.

A Barnsley striker has now failed to score for five games and they have managed it just ONCE in the last 12. Each of the last three Reds goals have been scored by midfielders and six of the last seven.

Danny Wilson has now won just one of his last 14 matches as Barnsley manager.

But he is unbeaten on the road in his second coming. The last Reds manager to avoid defeat in each of his first three away games in charge was Andy Ritchie back in 2005.

However The Reds do have the worst away record in the Championship this season, having taken only six points from their 12 games away from home.

Barnsley have kept only two clean sheets in their 24 league games this season - the fewest in the Championship, but Charlton are without a shutout in eight.
