After the missing of THAT sitter at Wembley on Sunday, much maligned Reds striker Kayode Odejayi avenged his critics by notching a fine brace to give the Reds only their second away win of the season and dragged Simon Davey's side out of the bottom 3.
Odejayi's first goal came on 36 minutes. A sumptuous flick by Diego Leon let in Jon Macken who squared for Big Kay to touch over the line from all of 2 yards. If he'd missed that then the men in white coats would have had to take him away!
Then came the second goal, that wrecked my bet!! Another fine Diego Leon cross was smack on the head of Mr Dependable, Stephen Foster who bulleted a header past Richard Lee.
The third came on 54 minutes and again, it was Odejayi who got it. A lovely ball by that man Leon again released Odejayi, who still had work to do, but barged the defender out of the way and picked his spot past Lee.
This completed the double over Watford, the only double of the season thus far for the Reds, and as mentioned earlier, only the SECOND away win all season, after the 3-2 success at Southampton in September.
Hopefully, that will be the turning point in Kayode's season. But then again, isn't that what we all said after his Chelsea goal...
Something to ponder there.. Up the Reds!
